Tickets for the 50/50 are still continuing to sell. New Contact list needs to be distributed with corrections. New Business Cards were distributed. Discussions for a possible poker run. (Day ride) to happen in spring 08. In the new year need to get prizes from companies. Possible fundraisers Bike run Fridge raffle – spring Family day – Bands Need to work on the forum letter for introductions for the scroungers Need to work on the request form. Next meeting Nov. 21/07, 22 Dixon Drive.

McKinnon Ticket sales so far Approx. 14 Books in 5 days Ways and Means committee Principles and Guidelines were handed out and read. The others will receive them by e-mail. Attn: JP. Grant Contact list for the Committee members and the rest will be mailed out. Attn: D. Wingrove Phone list for the Web site was circulated and checked. The rest will receive this list for approval by e-mail or regular mail. Attn: D. Wingrove Business Cards will be done for the next meeting. Attn: JP. Grant Discussions of holding a raffle for a trip for 2 to Niagara Falls. Need to compose a form letter for introductions to various merchants for donations. All committee members are to draft a letter for this purpose and then we will compose one final letter. Discussions held about having a family day with rides and bands. We currently have a new GIC account; Trustees have bank cards for deposit only but still require signatures to withdraw money. Next meeting Oct 23, 22 Dixon Dr., Port Dover. DW/Aug2007
WAYS & MEANS COMMITTEE
MISSION STATEMENT
The 8782 Ways and Means Committee is a voluntary group of Members like yourself, who have taken it upon themselves to establish a Committee dedicated to try to raise funds through the organization of and co-ordination of events, functions, raffles, etc…, for the sole purpose of trying to assist the 8782 Membership, their families and our retirees, who may unfortunately find themselves with “Special Needs” and whose circumstance and/or situation which has arisen find that there is no way for Local 8782 (formally) as an organization to assist such member or cause.
Therefore, collectively we have decided to take this task upon ourselves and try as much as possible to raise funds for just these circumstances.
We are strictly a volunteer group and all work performed will be on each Committee Members own time at no cost to the Local.
