The USW Lake Erie Action Centre is a FREE SERVICE.

 

Staffed by trained volunteers that are ready to help you take the next step in your search for suitable employment

 

The Action Centre was made possible by a grant from the Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities

 

Community Support Centre of Haldimand Norfolk(CSCHN)

I am the Employment Counsellor at the Community Support Centre of Haldimand Norfolk(CSCHN) in Caledonia and have assisted some of the individuals that have recently been laid off.  This is just an FYI- in case you were not aware of the employment services offered in Caledonia that may be of assistance to some of your union members. 

 

Our Employment Resource Centre provides one-to-one employment counselling and assistance with all aspects of the job search.  These FREE services include:

 

bullet interview skills
bullet information on occupations
bullet job board with updated job postings
bullet job search techniques and workshops
bullet labour market information
bullet volunteer placement opportunities
bullet employer services
bullet internet access
bullet local newspapers
bullet faxing and photocopying service

 

The CSCHN also provides health, social, community and recreation services to individuals and families in our community. Among the programs we offer are:

 

bullet Information and referral to all health, social and community services, including a community support worker who can provide one-to-one assistance.
bullet CYPRES Active Living Centre which provides recreational programming for children, youth and older adults.
bullet On-site counselling and resource support in collaboration with many other local social service agencies including Community Addictions & Adult Mental Health Services, Haldimand-Norfolk R.E.A.C.H., Haldimand & Norfolk Women’s Services, the Salvation Army, the United Way of Haldimand-Norfolk and many others.
 

As well, the food bank is located in our building and open on Friday mornings.  Please feel free to pass on my contact information.
